Konkret werde ich einen Cronjob erstellen, der monatlich ein neues Zertifikat mit Hilfe des „letsencrypt-auto“ Python-Script bezieht.

  3. In many cases it can become cumbersome to transfer files to and from a droplet. Imagine a development usage scenario where you are coding apps remotely and find yourself uploading a script repeatedly to your virtual server to test. This can become quite a hassle in a very short period of time. Luckily there is a way to mount your VPS file system to your local computer so you can make changes on the fly and treat your droplet as local storage. In this article, we will show you how to do exactly that.

From last week, Google began paving the way to run Android apps on Chrome Operating System through the project named "App Runtime for Chrome", but the release came with a lot of limitations – it only supported certain Android apps and on Chrome OS only. At the launch, initially only 4 Android apps – Vine, Evernote, Duolingo and Sight Words – were added to the Chrome Web Store.

  10. This page contains information about how to install Pipelight on different distributions and how to compile it on your own. The instructions were moved to this separate page so that they can be updated and linked to a bit easier. If you write a blog post / news entry about Pipelight, please keep in mind that Pipelight is still in beta stage and we sometimes need to alter things in a way which might break compatibility with previous installation instructions (like for example multi-plugin support), so please consider linking to this page instead of copying the instructions, thanks.

  14. Put simply, arkOS will be a platform for self-hosting your online content from the safety and comfort of your own home, on your Raspberry Pi. It aims to break the two biggest obstacles to decentralizing the web: technical know-how and financial burden. Server software that runs on Linux is very powerful, but can easily break if you don’t know what you are doing, and relies on complicated terminal commands that render them inaccessible to the general public. Furthermore, full-size servers are very expensive and require a great deal of time and maintenance. arkOS will change this. Its focus on streamlined installation and cohesive maintenance means that end users will finally be able to host the services they want to use. These services can include simple website hosting, personal cloud services, social networking software, chat servers or more advanced web technologies. The Raspberry Pi is impossibly cheap and easy to get, giving a huge advantage to those that don’t have the means or the will to run their own full-sized server (which probably is most people).

  18. Mappero Geotagger is a geotagging application: it allows you to assign a geographic location to your photos. The location information is embedded following a standard format in the picture file itself, so that you won't lose it if you need to move the file around; and if you upload it to Flickr or other services which support the EXIF standard, other people will be able to find your pictures just by browsing a map.

There are so many options and depending on your need and suitability you can pick and choose which one to use. Plus, it brings your old machine back to life without compromising on the security and with the state-of-the-art applications! You can't ever think of that with any other operating system, for sure.
